Music Residency Program Overview

For Soundscape Collective, “home” is binary. Our headquarters is located in Denver where most of us work, sleep and play. Program orientations and stagings will take place here along with some end-of-service performances and workshops.

“Home” is also a remote, rural landscape in Colorado that is steeped in history. Through a variety of residency programs, we aim to nurture & enhance the process of creation by offering support and a setting of inspirational natural beauty to artists while preserving the land on which the Program is situated. Residents are encouraged to wander the forest service roads, wooded trails and stream beds, exploring the area’s historical sites and intriguing landscape.

Community Engagement

Soundscape Collective recognizes the value and benefits of solitude as well as community interaction.

The Residency Program can be an opportunity to retreat from society and completely submerge oneself in work and environment. It also enables residents the opportunity to connect and engage with colleagues and the community.

Depending on the program and preference of the artist in residence, Soundscape Collective facilitates meaningful relationships between our resident artists and the community; both local and across Colorado. Exchanges between residents and area artists, civic leaders, entrepreneurs and general audiences can create a deeper understanding of Colorado's unique environment, people and culture.

At the conclusion of the residency there is a minimal community engagement requirement where the artist will share work inspired by their intimate and immersive experience (performance, workshop, open studio participation, etc).
